About Us

Our Mission

The VET EcoLume Project sets out to cultivate skilled professionals in sustainable urban lighting. By combining education, cross-cultural collaboration, and advocacy, our goal is to reduce light pollution’s impact on both the environment and human well-being. We are focused on three main areas:

  • Education: Developing a specialized VET curriculum to equip learners with the skills needed to mitigate light pollution.
  • Collaboration: Fostering cross-cultural exchange between Europe and Latin America to share best practices for sustainable lighting.
  • Advocacy: Raising awareness and promoting policy changes to encourage environmentally friendly lighting practices.

Through this multi-faceted approach, VET EcoLume contributes to achieving green and digital skills, vital for the labor market’s evolving needs, especially in response to global environmental challenges.

Our Goals

  • Create Specialized VET Curricula: Equip learners with knowledge and skills to combat light pollution through the creation of a VET curriculum tailored for both European and Latin American contexts.
  • Foster International Collaboration: Establish a platform for sharing research and innovations between VET institutions in Europe and Latin America.
  • Raise Awareness: Launch campaigns to educate the public about sustainable lighting practices and the importance of reducing light pollution.
  • Promote Sustainable Urban Development: Advocate for policies and solutions that improve energy efficiency and preserve natural ecosystems.
